da 888casino: Chelsea captain John Terry has refused to rule-out a switch to China this summer, when his deal at Stamford Bridge expires, but has admitted it’s his preference to remain with the West London side.
da wazamba: Veteran defender Terry has struggled for first-team opportunities with Antonio Conte’s side this season after penning a one-year deal last summer and is widely expected to move on at the end of the season, with the Far East a likely destination.
When asked about the possibility of moving to China when appearing on an ITV show, the skipper, quoted by The Sun, said:
“I’m not sure. For me, I want to stay at Chelsea.”
Terry has remained loyal to Chelsea throughout his career but also admitted that reported interest from Manchester City had previously helped him to negotiate a new deal, as he said:
“I spoke to Roman [Abramovich] at the time and told him I want to stay. Manchester City made an offer. It gives you bargaining power to go in and renegotiate a contract.”
Whilst he remains a fan-favourite at Stamford Bridge, the 36-year-old has made just ten first-team appearances this season and is unlikely to stay on. However, there is no guarantee he will continue with his playing career.
